Peptagen, Inc. was founded to develop technology, pioneered by Dr. James C. Oliver around a mucosally administered cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) nanoparticle vaccine composition for the prevention and treatment of pathogenic diseases and cancer. Peptagen’s technology is well-positioned to thrive in the vaccine market—one of the most active acquisition spaces in the pharmaceutical industry today.
Peptagen’s lead program involves an experimental therapeutic mucosal vaccine for the chronic maintenance treatment of HIV and AIDS related illness. A second program will focus on a maintenance treatment of cancer following traditional surgery or chemotherapy. These vaccines are intended to be administered in a nanoparticle nasal formulation. Prior to clinical studies, animal models for intranasal delivery will be completed to optimize the vaccine formulation, dose, and treatment frequency.
